The ADM2582E/ADM2587E is a fully integrated signal and power isolated data transceiver with ± 15 kV ESD protection and is suitable for high-speed communication on multipoint transmission lines. The ADM2582E/ADM2587E includes an integrated DC to DC power supply, eliminating the need for external DC isolation blocks.
They are balanced transmission line designs and comply with ANSI/TIA/EIA-485-A-98 and ISO 8482:1987 (E).
The device integrates analog equipment company, i-coupler ® Three channel isolator, three state differential line driver, differential input receiver and analog device are combined into one package. The device is powered by a single 5V or 3.3V power supply, realizing a fully integrated signal and power isolation RS-485 solution.
The ADM2582E/ADM2587E driver has an active high enable function. Active low receiver enable is also provided, which enables the receiver output to enter a high impedance state when disabled.
The device has current limiting and thermal shutdown functions to prevent output short circuit and bus contention that may lead to excessive power consumption. The components are fully specified in the industrial temperature range and can be packaged in a highly integrated, 20 lead, wide body SOIC.
