Mcp73831 / 2 device is a highly advanced linear charge management controller, which is used in space limited and cost sensitive applications. Mcp73831 / 2 can be packaged with 8 lead, 2mmx3mmdfn or 5 lead and SOT23. Due to their small physical size and the small number of external components required, mcp73831 / 2 is very suitable for portable applications. For applications charging from the USB port, mcp73831 / 2 complies with all specifications that control the USB power bus. Mcp73831 / 2 adopts constant current / constant voltage charge algorithm, with optional pretreatment and charge termination.
Constant voltage regulation is fixed through four available options: 4.20V, 4.35v, 4.40v or 4.50v to meet new and emerging battery charging requirements. The constant current value is set to use an external resistor. Mcp73831 / 2 equipment limits the charging current according to the mold temperature under high power or high environmental conditions. This thermal regulation optimizes the charging cycle time while maintaining the reliability of the equipment.
There are several options for preprocessing threshold, preprocessing current value, charging termination value and automatic charging threshold.
