Tp4056 is a complete single lithium-ion battery with constant current / constant voltage linear charger. The esop8 / emsop8 package with heat sink at the bottom and the small number of external components make the tp4056 an ideal choice for portable applications. Tp4056 can work with USB power supply and adapter power supply.
Due to the internal PMOSFET architecture and anti backcharge circuit, there is no need for external isolation diode. Thermal feedback can automatically adjust the charging current to limit the chip temperature under high-power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The charging voltage is fixed at 4.2V and the charging current can be set externally through a resistor.
When the charging current drops to 1 / 10 of the set value after reaching the final floating charge voltage, tp4056 will automatically terminate the charging cycle. When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power supply) is removed, tp4056 automatically enters a low current state to reduce the battery leakage current below 2ua. Tp4056 can also be placed in shutdown mode when there is power supply to reduce the supply current to 55ua.
Other features of tp4056 include battery temperature detection, undervoltage locking, automatic recharging and two LED status pins to indicate charging and end.
