Description of tps54160a
Tps54160a device is a 60V, 1.5A, step-down regulator with integrated high side MOSFET. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A low ripple pulse jump mode reduces the no-load output power supply current to 116 μ A. By using the enable pin, the off supply current can be reduced to 1.3 μ A.
Undervoltage lockout is internally set to 2.5V, but can be increased by using the enable pin. The output voltage start ramp is controlled by the slow start pin, which can also be configured to control sequencing / tracking. An open drain power supply normal signal indicates that the output is within 94% to 107% of its nominal voltage.
The wide switching frequency range allows optimization of efficiency and external component dimensions. Frequency turn back and thermal shutdown functions protect components in case of overload.
