Description of afe4490
Afe4490 is a fully integrated analog front end (AFE) which is very suitable for pulse oximeter applications. The device includes a low-noise receiver channel with a 22 bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), an LED transmission unit, and diagnostic functions for sensor and led fault detection. This device is a configurable timing controller. This flexibility allows the user to fully control the timing characteristics of the device. In order to simplify the timing requirements and provide a low jitter clock for the device, an oscillator powered by an external crystal oscillator is also integrated. This device uses an SPI interface to communicate with an external microcontroller or host processor.
This device is a complete AFE solution in a single, compact vqfn-40 package (6mm x 6mm) with a rated operating temperature range of -40 ° C to 85 ° C.
