The bq32000 device is a compatible alternative to the industry standard real-time clock.
The bq32000 has an automatic backup power supply with an integrated Trickle Charger. The standby power supply can be realized by using capacitors or non rechargeable batteries. The bq32000 has programmable calibration adjustments from – 63 ppm to +126 ppm. The bq32000 register includes an of flag indicating the state of the RTC oscillator and a stop bit that allows the host processor to disable the oscillator. Time registers are usually updated once per second, and all registers are updated at the same time to prevent timing failures. Bq32000 includes automatic leap year compensation.
