The tps53316 device uses a total of 16 components in a PCB area of 200mm2 to provide a fully integrated 3.3V or 5V input synchronous buck converter.

Due to the low RDS (on) and ti's proprietary smoothpwm jump operation mode, it can achieve 96% peak efficiency and more than 90% efficiency when the load is as low as 100mA. It requires only two 22 µ f ceramic output capacitors to achieve a power intensive 5A solution.

Tps53316 provides 750khz, 1.1mhz and 2MHz switching frequency options, pre bias start, optional internal soft start, output soft discharge, internal vbst switch, normal power supply, en / input UVLO, overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage and overheating protection, and support of all ceramic output capacitors.
