The tle8366 is a PWM step-down DC / DC converter with an integrated 1.8A power switch encapsulated in a small pg-dso-8 pad with exposure. There are three versions available, two fixed voltage versions are 5.0V (tle8366ev50) or 3.3V (tle8366ev33), one variable voltage version is called tle8366ev, and the reference feedback voltage is only 600mV. The wide input voltage range from 4.75 to 45V makes the tle8366 suitable for a variety of applications. The device is designed for use in harsh automotive environments.
The nominal switching frequency of 370khz allows the use of small and cost-effective inductors and capacitors, resulting in lower and predictable output ripple and smaller board space consumption. (if necessary, the device can be synchronized to an external frequency source between 200 and 530khz.)
The tle8366 includes safety features such as successive cycle current limit, over temperature shutdown and input under voltage locking. Enable the function to facilitate the power management in the battery powered system when the current consumption is less than 2 µ a.
The voltage regulation loop provides a good line and load regulation. The stability of the loop can be adjusted by using an external compensation network. The compensation network combines voltage mode regulation and feedforward control path to ensure line transient rejection. During startup, the integrated soft start limits the peak value of inrush current and prevents voltage overshoot.
